Trail Rides We get alot of requests for trail rides! So here are some issues that frequently arise: ''I want to trail ride; but I have never ridden a horse!'' Answer: We give one lesson at no charge so that you can go on a ride with us. We take payment for the trail ride at the time of the lesson. So, you will need to schedule a day in advance to come get some instruction in the arena. Then when we are comfortable with you moving outside the arena, we will take a ride. We have some really good horses - but horses, by nature, are sometimes unpredictable. So, you need to have some fundamental skills such as right turn, left turn, whoa!, and go. Consent and Release is required to ride at the Silver Lining. How old do you have to be? Answer: We don't set age limits on riding. Riding requires a certain skill set, coordination and balance. Riding on a trail requires reasoning skills. Having said that - we have 6 year olds that ride beautifully! But, have been in lessons for 6-9 months. So, the real answer is ''everyone is different.'' We'll have to evaluate! Can I bring my own horse to ride at your place? Answer: Sure! We will charge a $20 grounds fee per horse per day. Bring current and negative coggins! feed, hay, shavings, etc...will be additional if purchased from the silver lining. If you lease one of our horses for the day the fee is $35. Do you have trailer hookups? Answer: No. Not yet. We hope to get them in the future! You are welcome to bring your trailer and a generator. We have plenty of space for you to set up! There is no charge to bring your trailer if you are bringing horses and you want to stay overnight to ride. Are the rides guided? Answer: yes. Note: Helmets are required at the Silver Lining for all riders 18 and under! Waivers and Consents/releases are to be signed prior to mounting up. Any horse that visits whether for the day or overnight; must have current and negative coggins to present at the time of unloading. |
